These animal bath toys come in duck, turtle, dolphin and crab shapes, in plastic for ages 0 to 3 years. Each toy is about 9 x 8 x 5.5 cm and weighs 30 to 37 g, in green, blue, red, dark blue, light blue and yellow. Each toy is packed in its own bag.
One day your toddler decides that baths are not for them and digs in at the doorframe. Advice to make it fun is easier said than done at 7 p.m., when everyone is tired and the water is already running.
What people like about bath toys is that they turn the bath into play. The animals float, so children can chase them and pour water, and the different shapes give them characters to talk to. A toddler who is busy with a dolphin is often calmer about washing.
When comparing baby bath toys, check size, materials and how many shapes come in a set. At about 9 cm, they are easy for small hands to hold, and they are light enough to float.
If bath time is turning into a battle, a few toys may help change the mood. Supervise your child in the bath, and rinse and dry the toys after use.
