At seven or eight months, your baby has become a person with opinions. They know exactly what they want, and what they want most of the time is to be up. They are also noticeably heavier than they were at three months. You feel it in your arms, in your lower back and in the way you stand when you hold them.

Everything you do now involves a negotiation. You want to cook dinner, but your baby wants to be on your hip. You want to tidy a room, but they cry when you put them down. So you do it one-handed, or you leave it undone. By evening, your shoulders are tight, the kitchen is a mess and you have not quite accomplished anything.

The Cotton Hip Carrier is built for this stage. It combines a soft pure-cotton carrier with a waist stool, so your baby can sit at your hip in a simple front-hold position while the stool helps carry the weight. It suits babies from 7 to 12 months, up to 20 kg, and it comes in four colors.

Once you start using it, the day changes shape. Your baby is close and content, and you have two hands again. Dinner gets made, the laundry gets folded and your arms feel less like they are constantly on duty. It is a way of saying yes to your baby's need to be held without saying no to everything else.
