This automatic baby soother repeats a gentle patting motion, with an anti-startle design, three gear settings and a wireless remote. It charges by USB, weighs 0.26 kg and comes in many animal designs (model D-2501). It also lists hot compress and infrared functions.
Patting a baby to sleep only works while your hand keeps going, and leaning over a crib for twenty minutes leaves your arm and back sore. The moment you stop, some babies wake again and the routine starts over.
What people like about a patting soother is that the rhythm continues without you. The three gear settings let you choose a gentler or firmer pace, the remote means you do not have to reach in and disturb your baby and the animal designs make it a friendly bedtime companion. It gives tired arms a break.
When comparing baby patting devices, compare motion settings, noise and control options. Look at the extra functions and decide which ones you would actually use.
If patting is part of your bedtime routine and you would like some help, this device is one option. It does not replace attention, so keep watching your baby and follow your pediatrician's safe-sleep guidance.
